Upcoming News – Renaming of (Online) master space

We are excited to announce that the (Online) master space for 4-week block units will be renamed to the (4Week Block) master space. In addition, the old block master spaces will be renamed to (Archive) and will be removed after 6 months.

This change is scheduled to occur between now and before Semester 1 Block 3 starts, and should minimise the confusion of different master space versions.

Note that this name change process will not affect your current content and materials that exist in the spaces. If you have any questions, please contact us for further assistance.

H5P Smart Import – generate interactive content types from import files

Did you know the H5P Smart Import tool can automatically generate one or more H5P activities, just from a web page, document, or text?

Simply by uploading a file, or pasting a webpage or text, the H5P AI engine will analyse and enhance the provided content. Identify key concepts, and then create information and interactives to test the learners’ knowledge.

What is the best type of content for Smart Import?

Currently, the Smart Import works best with any content that explains concepts and facts. Content types that can be processed:

  • Audio: MP3, WAS, OPUS, OGG, OGA, M4A, SoundCloud
  • Video: M4V, MP4, WebM, Wistia, YouTube, Vimeo
  • Document: PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT

Creating Effective Team-based Learning Activity with Feedback Fruits

Introducing Feedback Fruits – Team Based Learning tool that simplifies the setup of team-based activities, and promotes active learning and collaboration in the classroom.

The learning activity can start with Individual Pre-work, where students review the provided materials (supported formats include documents, images, videos, and audio). Then, follow by answering a series of questions independently in the Individual Readiness Assessment Test (iRAT).

Next, students join their groups for the Team Readiness Assessment Test (tRAT), where they retake the questions as a team. And lastly, a Group Member Evaluation step can be added at the end of your activity to encourage critical reflection and evaluation of team contributions.
