Introducing a new feature – Incorporating H5Ps in the VU Collaborate Quiz Tool

Adding H5Ps to quizzes gives the opportunity for more interactive question types and authentic assessment by using content types such as Branching Scenarios and Interactive Videos. It also extends to the list of quiz question types you can utilise. The score from the H5P will be incorporated into the overall quiz attempt score, rather than create its own grade item.

Note that it is suggested to only use the H5P in Quiz feature for Formative assessment at this time. If you wish to use this feature in Summative assessment, please contact VUCollaborateHelp@vu.edu.au.

See our guide for more information: Incorporating H5Ps in the VU Collaborate Quiz Tool

New Improvement – LinkedIn Learning integration

Teaching staff can now search and add LinkedIn Learning videos and courses directly into the VU Collaborate unit space. This feature allows students to view content within VU Collaborate without needing to transition to the LinkedIn Learning platform itself.

What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning provides access to a wide range of video courses taught by industry experts. Online video courses in Business, Design/Creative and Technology including 3D animation, audio and music, CAD, design, developer, education and eLearning, IT, marketing, photography, video and web skills.

Refer to LinkedIn Learning: Adding Resources in VU Collaborate for more information.

New Feature –  Assessment Dropbox Filtering

Previously, in Assignments, the search filter defaulted to Users with submissions for individual assignments and Submitted groups for group assignments.

Now, instructors will instead default to Show everyone for individual assignments and Show all groups for group assignments. These modified filters are the new default search option. After applying one of these default filters, instructors can apply additional filters to improve search optimisation.

Tip of the Month

Due to the move to Student One, the term code has changed from

  • 2022-SEM-1-B3 to 2022-H2B3
  • 2022-SEM-8W-B4 to 2022-H8W4

So if you are locating these units in My Delivery Space by searching for a space by term (a), you will need to scroll right, instead of left. The other option is to Access space from the waffle (b), and select from the dropdown list.

(NOTE: units created prior to Student One migration i.e. S2B1 are still be listed as 2022-SEM-2-B1).
